Ye Are the gods (Abridged from The Mejai) by Peter Abrahams

Ye are the gods.
Ye Men and Women are the gods.
Ye create things and Ye understand things.
Ye labour to impress things upon the Minds of others.
And Ye make good use creations of others.
Hence Ye are gods.
Ye Are gods BUT not through worship:
Ye became gods but only through THE BREATH that God lent Ye through Adam.
Idols are no gods.
Ye are the gods.
Place the TOTALITY OF THE WORLD'S IDOLS at the disposal of One Needy Man and he shall become the most wretched of paupers.
Place the TOTALITY OF HUMAN TALENTS IN ONLY ONE CITY at the disposal of that same Man and he shall live as though he were God.
Hence Ye Talents are the gods:
Ye are the most efficacious of all Human Desires:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and the rest of days give Ye nothing.
It is what Ye make that makes each day count - be it a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or a Sunday.
Hence Ye are the gods.
Children that Ye gods bring into being are the most precious of all jewels:
Name therefore not Your precious jewels after days of the Calendar;
neither name them after things that Ye made with your hands and with your minds.
Ye are the gods.
And Ye Alone are the gods.

This poem was abridged from teachings of The Mejai. The Mejai said more on the subject than what I''ve placed on this site. In The Mejai''s teachings, gods refers to creatures with certain tangible and specific qualities and characteristics that idols cannot acquire.
